Macondo

What an enchanting, magical, fantastic, and at times also miserable little town! In his novel One Hundred Years of Solitude, Gabriel García Márquez creates characters, phenomena, and situations that make you feel melancholic, but then also joyful, and sometimes they even bring a smile to your face. Often, you’re not quite sure whether you are in reality or in a dream world. There is also a back-and-forth between this world and the beyond, accompanied by the endless loneliness of the people of Macondo.
